I
originally wanted to call my site "Spike's
Crypt" since it works well with my company's name "Java's
Crypt" , but I found another site with that same name
on BuffySearch.Com
Then
I thought about the character of Spike and what he has gone through
since we first saw him in season two on Buffy. The Chip that the
Initiative implanted in his head during season four has been the
catalyst for a great number of changes in his character and it's
was a great way to be able to keep his character on the show and
not kill him off after the original plan of a half dozen or so episodes.
I think that The Chip is one of the main reasons behind the way
he has developed from the purely bloodthirsty (and at times romantic)
vamp to the more fleshed out character we see in season five-six
(that we love and hate, but can't look away from). The other main
reason IMHO is his developing respect and love for The Slayer, Buffy
Summers.
Site
Design Until
August 4, 2002 this site was frame based, but I decided to go non-frames
and use tables for the layout.
On
November 8, 2002, version 3 of my website layout and graphics were
created and uploaded. I went from the frames layout to my present
tables layout.
On
February 8, 2003, version 4 of my website layout and graphics were
created and uploaded.
On August 1, 2004, version 5 of my website
graphics were created and uploaded.
Repetition
of quotes
In
several sections on this site you will find certain ideas, topics
or Q&A repeated several times. I decided to put as many JM
quotes as I could find on the topics that interest me. Although
people
get interviewed and asked the same or similar questions repeatedly,
the answers are not always the same. We recall different things
and might add some details. So I've collected them together to
try
and get some more detail.
Why
so many quotes Well
if you had a chance to go over and visit my home page The
Georgian' Catacombs you will notice that other then link pages
it's filled with tons of quotes, songs or sayings. I've collected
quotes and snippets from around me since I was in high school and
I decided several years ago that in order not to loose them I'd
collect them together and create a website. There is a great deal
of wisdom and brilliance that can be found in the words of a person
who sees life differently from ourselves. We can learn from other's
experiences and insight. Quotes can make you smile, be in awe or
let something finally click and make sense. Amazing things can be
found in television and movies. Too often the writer is treated
badly and not respected, but have a voice that must be heard and
appreciated. You will notice that I have many movie and television
quotes, put simply, I love movies and I read a great deal.
This
site is mostly made up of quotes from interviews, online chats and
question periods and articles. I think that we can learn a great
deal by listening to people or experiencing the art they create.
I find that when I enjoy an actor's or writer's work I like to know
a bit more about them and how they think. I enjoy knowing how a
TV show or movie is created and what goes on behind the scenes.
So I've tried to gather together information and quotes to try and
accomplish this and to learn more.
I will
continue to add information to this site from time to time. If you
have any suggestions for links, new images,
or to report a bad link, please send me an e-mail at spikeschip@javascrypt.com
Multiple
File Locations My
files are presently located on five different accounts (3 servers):
- my own domain and main server (http://www.javascrypt.com/spikeschip/)
My site.
- Spikeschip21 (http://www.geocities.com/spikeschip21/) Misc files
and PS7 zipped brush files.
- Spikeschip42 (http://www.geocities.com/spikeschip42/) Misc files
and PS6 zipped brush files.
- Spikeschip84 (http://www.geocities.com/spikeschip84/) My image
galleries.
- Java42 (http://pages.infinit.net/java42/) Images (awards/nominations,
general images and text files for the articles)
The
last four accounts are for all the files that are either too large,
numerous or take up too much of my domain's monthly bandwidth. I
am the webmaster for all of them and the index pages that are located
on the last four all lead back to my main site, nothing is lost.
Links
and Credits
All
of the information on this site comes from around the WWW and I've
tried to refer or link back to the source as often as possible.
I started to gather most of what's on this site well before I decided
to put it together, so not all of the sources have links.
There
are a few pages where you can find the title and link to an online
article. These are the original links where I found the articles,
but there is a chance that they are no longer online. I provided
the articles in text format in case they are no longer available
from their online source. I do not intend any copyright infringement.
I will gladly remove any offending material at the copyright holder's
request or add a proper link or reference if that is preferred.
